Fifth Feast Day

Sunday, April 6, 2025

Praise the Lord!! It is Sunday again and our fifth Feast Day!! On this Lord’s Day, enjoy worshiping with your church family through songs and hymns, through the reading and teaching of God’s Word, through giving cheerfully, and enjoying the blessed gift of food, chocolate, social media, or anything you may have set aside for your Lenten promise.

Moments of Prayer

Are there things, people or issues of justice that plague you in prayer? Does it seem that at times that God has turned a deaf ear to your voice and pleas for help? In today’s moment of prayer Jesus shares through a parable the importance of praying persistently, even when it seems that God does not hear or answer.

Read Luke 18:1-8

The introduction of the parable serves as the guide to its interpretation, “Now he told them a parable on the need for them to pray always and not give up.” (v 1) A widow woman had been regularly coming to a judge, begging for justice for a personal situation. Finally, after many trips to his courtroom, the judge agreed to her request and granted mercy and justice. Similarly, we are to pray persistently for justice for God’s people, as the woman pleaded with the judge for justice.

From God’s perspective, justice will come to his elect speedily. From a human perspective, of course, justice may seem to be a long time coming. Therefore God’s people must persist in prayer, as the widow persisted until she received justice

Lord Have Mercy (For What We Have Done) | Lyric Video | Logos Church | Matt Papa

Lord Have Mercy (For What We Have Done)

by Keith & Kristyn Getty, Matt Boswell, Matt Papa & Sandra McCracken

For what we have done and left undone

We fall on Your countless mercies

For sins that are known and those unknown

We call on Your name so holy

For envy and pride, for closing our eyes

For scorning our very neighbor

In thought, word, and deed we’ve failed You our King

How deeply we need a Savior

Chorus

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy

Lord have mercy on us

Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy

Lord have mercy on us

For what You have done Your life of love

You perfеctly lived we praise You

Though tеmpted and tried You fixed Your eyes

You finished the work God gave You

And there on the tree A King among thieves

You bled for a world’s betrayal

You loved to the end Our merciful friend

How pure and forever faithful

Chorus

Bridge

For hearts that are cold for seizing control

For scorning our very Maker

In thought, word, and deed we’ve failed You our King

How deeply we need a Savior

Chorus
